Annual Fundraiser for the
Wheatley Education Campus
After Care Program

On Thursday September 29 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, Jimmy Valentine's hosts our annual fundraiser for the Wheatley Education Campus After Care Program from 6 PM til 9 PM. This is our most important event of the year at either bar. Catrice Simpson runs the After Care program, which is located in Trinidad and has more than 200 students ages K through 6th. The program keeps local kids engaged in positive and productive activities and off of the streets after classes are done every day. Our fundraiser, which has raised more than $7,000 over the last three years, makes possible such projects as the play adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, a Halloween party with DC Metropolitan Police Department, the creation of a yearbook by the students, kites for "high-flying kite day," fashion talent shows with prizes, field trips, and a host of other art and craft supplies that create teaching and learning opportunities for the kids in Catrice's program.

In exchange for your $20 donation, you get free food and free drinks (3 max) on us, but most importantly this is just an exciting vibe as this fundraiser means the world to the kindly folks at Webb Wheatley. Trinidad Neighborhood Association is the non-profit that purchases the items Catrice needs and then directly donates them to After Care, which means 100% of all money raised goes directly to the program.

Every donation helps. A lot of people talk about making a difference, and this a very simple way to act on it.
For those that can’t attend, this link, Wheatley After School Program/Friends of Joe Cole Rec. Center Donations will take you straight to Trinidad Neighborhood Association’s Paypal page, where you can make a donation directly to the bank account used exclusively for this fundraiser.
